★ Can zeolite be used for all dogs?

Yes, dog food can be optimized with zeolite for all dog breeds. Also at any age - from puppies to senior dogs.

★ How is zeolite administered?

Zeolite is administered in powdered form and can either be mixed directly into food or stirred into water and added to food. Make sure your dog drinks enough fluid when zeolite is administered. Our dog sometimes enjoys water with a splash of sheep's milk more. And he also drinks more of it.
If your dog is on medication, leave 2 hours between zeolite and medication administration.

★ How can I use zeolite with dry food?

Yes, that works well. Simply sprinkle the zeolite powder over the dry food, stir gently and optionally moisten with a dash of water or a little sheep yogurt so that the powder adheres better and doesn't remain on top.

With wet food, the application is easy. Mix it in. This is also the original idea of zeolite for feed optimization. Mix it in homogeneously. Our experience with dry food: when the bag is freshly opened, the food is still slightly moist. (This is probably the wrong term for it - I think you know what I mean).

What I mean is that the zeolite powder adheres well. That means just sprinkle it over and gently turn the food. So that it doesn't scare the dog by looking like powdered sugar on top. I have also heard from customers who mix it into sheep yogurt and pour it over the dry food. We also did this after Ezra, our Labrador Retriever, had surgery and received many medications. Afterward, as a recovery and detoxification cure. My mother gives her dog a special raw meal once a week, minced, and she mixes it in there. Bakku (since spring) loved this, of course. And now Winnie. Winnie is an orphan of divorce and has found a perfect home with grandma and grandpa. She arrived quite anxious and with a lot of dandruff. We immediately brought them a large can and Winnie eats the zeolite powder without any fuss. After 3 weeks, no more dandruff.

★ How long does it take for zeolite to work?

It is important to administer zeolite regularly and adhere to the recommended dosages to achieve the best results. Stick with it. Sometimes we read: I've been feeding him zeolite for 3 days now and he's still scratching... or something similar.

★ Can zeolite help with diarrhea in dogs?

The study by Januškevičius et al. (2013), published in Veterinarija ir Zootechnika (64(86):3–10), investigated the effects of clinoptilolite zeolite as a feed additive in adult dogs. The aim was to evaluate the effects on digestion, stool quality, and certain blood parameters.

Results:

Stool Quality: Dogs in the zeolite group showed a significant improvement in stool consistency, with a reduction in moisture content, indicating better intestinal function.

Blood Parameters: Positive changes in blood values were observed, including an increase in total protein content as well as lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels compared to the control group.

Nutrient Utilization: The absorption of dry matter from the feed was improved in the zeolite group, indicating more efficient nutrient utilization.

These results suggest that supplementing dog food with clinoptilolite zeolite can have positive effects on digestive health and certain metabolic parameters. As you can see, this study suggests that zeolite could serve as a natural feed additive to support intestinal function and general health in dogs.

In summary: The addition of clinoptilolite zeolite to dog food led to a significant improvement in intestinal health and a reduction in the moisture content of the stool. This also improved stool quality, which is particularly beneficial for indoor pet keeping.

★ Can zeolite help with osteoarthritis?

Zeolite can support the body's detoxification work and reduce silent inflammation – both play a role in osteoarthritis.

★ Are there any side effects when using zeolite in dogs?

Generally, side effects from using zeolite in dogs are very rare. However, it is important to adhere to the recommended dosages and ensure the dog consumes enough fluids when zeolite is administered.

Due to its ability to remove toxins from the intestines, diarrhea or vomiting may sometimes occur during the first few days of use as the body adjusts to the zeolite powder. In some dogs, the volume of excretion increases. The intestines simply begin to empty more. If these symptoms persist for more than a few days, or if the dog shows other unusual symptoms, you should consult a veterinarian immediately. But that's clear anyway.

This study Januškevičius et al. (2013), Veterinarija ir Zootechnika 64(86):3-10 also clearly demonstrated that zeolite can be given to dogs, in this case, 10 female German Shepherds (2-4 years old), without any concerns. The study extended over several months, from the inactive state of the bitches through pregnancy to the lactation phase. In all phases, clinoptilolite administration was well tolerated and had positive effects on stool quality, blood parameters (there were fewer stress markers in the blood - which I like most) and nutrient absorption.

★ Can zeolite be used in combination with other supplements or medications?

No. Allow at least two hours between applications.
After prolonged medication, injections, and surgeries, we recommend optimizing food with zeolite. 

★ At what age is zeolite recommended for dogs?

From puppy age. Zeolite positively influences food, making nutrients more available and providing our sweet darlings with trace elements and many natural minerals for bone development. In addition, digestion is sometimes not so stable, and zeolite rock flour can really help here.

★ Zeolite for older dogs too?

Yes, absolutely. And in old age, the addition is also very important. Dogs need their whiskers and tactile hairs for better sensory perception. These vibrissae fall out and grow back again and again. In old age, it's a bit different. Something might not grow back as quickly. Zeolite supports the coat and also hair growth positively. This is an important factor in older dogs. Whiskers and tactile hairs are absolutely essential for a happy old age for dogs.

★ Can zeolite powder be used with wet and dry food?

Yes, for both feeding methods. With wet food, it's easy to mix in, and it also works with dry food. Simply mix it in, perhaps moisten it slightly if the dry food is already a bit too dry, and place a bowl of water next to it.

★ What should be considered regarding the quality of zeolite for dogs?

It is important to pay attention to the quality when choosing zeolite for dogs. The following factors should be considered:

Purity: It is important that the zeolite is free from impurities and pollutants.

Origin: It is advisable to buy zeolite from trustworthy manufacturers who source their zeolite from traceable sources. And who know the mining site. Not all mining sites have the composition that zeolite must have as a feed optimizer. 

 

Processing: The quality of zeolite can be influenced by how it is processed. It is important that the zeolite has been carefully processed to maintain its effectiveness. So, tribomechanically pulverized is important, as this breaks open the cavities instead of crushing them. This creates space for the pollutants that are to be bound. Particle size: It is important that the zeolite particles are the correct size to effectively bind pollutants. So, a medium particle size of 14 microns is perfect for dogs. 

★ How can zeolite be used externally on dogs?

Zeolite powder can be used as a dry shampoo by applying it to the fur and massaging it in. It helps to remove pollutants and impurities from the fur.

As zeolite gel: Zeolite gel can be used as a skin care product by applying it to the affected area. It can help relieve pain and inflammation and accelerate wound healing. Add zeolite powder to aloe vera gel and stir it gently. This way, you create your own suspension.

As a zeolite solution: Zeolite solution can be used as a rinse by rubbing it into the fur after washing. It helps to remove pollutants and impurities from the fur. And above all, this zeolite rinse takes away many odors that have settled in the fur. As zeolite ointment: apply this ointment to wounds, for example, the places where dogs like to lie and then the fur comes off. Gently massage it in and thereby stimulate the skin to form fur again.

★ How long should zeolite be given or supplemented to a dog?

Either as a cure for 6-8 weeks, twice a year. Spring and autumn, when the coat changes, a detox or purification cure can greatly support the organism.
Or optimize feed daily with zeolite. As a preventative measure and for wellness. And to relieve the detoxification organs.

Our dog gets the powder daily. He gets delicious wet food - he loves it - from a "tin can", so I want to enrich the dog food daily with zeolite, which binds toxins.

★ Does zeolite help with diarrhea?

Zeolite can be a very effective and natural support in the treatment of diarrhea in dogs. It works by adsorbing toxins, regulating pH values, strengthening the intestinal barrier, binding water, and promoting the healing of intestinal irritations.

In other words: Yes, and how! You have to imagine zeolite like a very effective rock sponge, with many cavities that bind toxins in the intestine. This calms digestion.

Basically, for zeolite from our mine (Eastern Slovakia - Prof. Karl Hecht recommends this mine due to the optimal composition of natural zeolite) one can assume the following sorption series:

Mercury, ammonium, lead, histamine, aluminum, benzidine, cesium.

If zeolite binds substances, are not the important vitamins, nutrients and whatever else is in the food also bound and transported away before the body absorbs them? - This question was recently asked by A. It is also almost the most frequently asked question. Completely understandable!!

Our answer is: no, vitamins and nutrients are not bound because they are much too large and cannot remain at the docking points. The same applies to proteins.
