Before I get to the 5 mask recipes with zeolite,
I would like to briefly explain the difference between zeolite and healing clay.
What is zeolite for the skin?
Zeolite is a natural mineral extracted from volcanic rock. Its beneficial effects on the skin have been proven numerous times by studies. What makes it special is that it binds pollutants, toxins, and harmful bacteria . Zeolite has antimicrobial properties and can therefore help with and alleviate certain skin conditions. Please pay attention to the fineness of the masks. Under 10 µm is optimal.
What is healing clay for the skin?
Healing clay or mineral clay, on the other hand, is extracted from loam, clay, or peat soil and has a different structure than zeolite. Healing clay is said to have detoxifying effects, although this has never been proven. Healing clay contains many different minerals and trace elements, such as silica, iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium, selenium, zinc, fluorine, and copper, and can bind harmful substances. Thus, healing clay also supports deep cleansing of the skin and can be helpful in treating skin problems and diseases.
5 recipes for masks with zeolite and healing clay
1. Detox mask with matcha for the face
1 tbsp zeolite
1 tbsp healing clay
1 tbsp Matcha green tea powder
1 tsp organic honey
1 tbsp jojoba oil
Optional: 2 drops of lavender essential oil

First mix the dry ingredients and then stir in the wet ingredients. Apply the mask to a thoroughly cleansed face. Leave it on until dry, then remove it with a damp washcloth. You can do this 1-2 times a week. This mask is not only detoxifying, but also anti-inflammatory thanks to the honey, and antioxidant and firming thanks to the matcha. Jojoba oil is rich in vitamin E, which also has antioxidant properties. This makes this mask a true anti-aging powerhouse. It's also great for hands.

2. Quick peeling mask for hands
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp Coconut oil (if it is solid, heat it briefly. Coconut oil melts at body temperature)
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp zeolite
Optional: 1 tsp healing clay
Optional: 1 tsp coconut flakes and/or 1 splash of lemon juice

First, mix the brown sugar with the zeolite, then stir in the coconut oil. If you like it more "Caribbean," add 1 teaspoon of coconut flakes and a squeeze of lemon juice. Coconut flakes have a wide range of benefits. On the one hand, they have a gentle massage effect on the skin, which stimulates circulation, and on the other, they are rich in vitamins and healthy fats. A perfect combination for great skin.
The lemon juice is naturally rich in vitamin C and smells delicious! It also stimulates the senses! The peeling mask has a heavenly summery scent and is pure wellness. Apply the peeling mask to damp hands, let it work for a moment, and then begin to gently massage it in. It's best to do this over the sink. Then rinse with lukewarm water and pat your hands dry, don't rub.
3. Hand care mask

1 tbsp zeolite
1 tbsp healing clay
1 tsp (Manuka) honey – or for vegans 1 tsp glycerin
½ tsp vitamin E
1 tbsp olive oil
First mix the dry ingredients, then add the wet ingredients. Apply a thick layer of the mask to your hands and let it sit for 10 minutes, if possible. Rinse it off with lukewarm water and enjoy soft, refreshed skin on your hands. Zeolite can also help with atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. This mask is not only anti-inflammatory, but also particularly nourishing and soothing. And of course, it's great not only for the hands (and feet!!!), but also for the face. Honey, especially Manuka honey, has strong anti-inflammatory properties and acts almost like an antibiotic. Manuka honey is available online, in health food stores, and in well-stocked pharmacies.
Vitamin E is THE anti-aging vitamin and therefore a must-have in any good skincare routine. When applied to the skin, olive oil moisturizes, smooths, and supports healthy cell function.
4. “Muesli mask” for face, neck and décolleté

2 tablespoons ground oat flakes
1 teaspoon zeolite
1 tsp healing clay
1 teaspoon honey
1 tbsp (soy) yogurt
The oatmeal is easy to grind in a coffee grinder or food processor. Mix zeolite with the ground oats and add honey and yogurt. Stir everything into a paste and spread it on your face, neck, and décolleté with a brush. After 15 minutes, you can remove it with a lukewarm, damp washcloth. Oatmeal is very rich in many B vitamins and potassium and has a moisturizing and soothing effect on the skin. The honey is anti-inflammatory, and the yogurt has a cooling and soothing effect and is rich in calcium.
5. Detox mask for the scalp
½ cup brewed and cooled chamomile tea
3 tbsp zeolite
2 tbsp healing clay
This mask not only binds oil to the scalp, which is great for oily roots, but can also reduce dandruff . Mix the ingredients together and apply a thin layer to the scalp, sectioning at a time. Wrapping an (old) towel around your head prevents the mask from dripping down, and the warmth generated by the headscarf, combined with your body temperature, encourages the pores to open, allowing the mask to work its magic.
After 20 minutes, rinse your scalp and hair thoroughly with water that's not too warm. Since the zeolite and healing clay can leave your hair feeling dull and rough, we recommend applying a conditioner while your hair is still wet.
Caution: Avoid your scalp! After the specified time, rinse everything thoroughly and enjoy a soothed, well-cleansed scalp and shiny, full hair! Chamomile tea also has anti-inflammatory and disinfectant properties.
Zeolite – Earth’s reminder of healing and renewal:
This special volcanic mineral carries the power of the four elements within it. It cleanses your skin, nourishes your cells, and connects you with the primal energy of nature. For care that touches body and soul.
