If we're honest, our mouths play a huge role when it comes to well-being and self-confidence . Healthy, sparkling teeth and fresh breath not only make a positive impression on others, they also make us feel more confident and at ease. Conversely, bad breath or less-than-perfect dental hygiene can make us feel embarrassed and insecure. The mucous membranes are often a breeding ground for various health problems, such as herpes, mouth ulcers, fungi, and inflammation, which can not only be painful but also lead to unpleasant odors and unsightly appearances.
Perfect oral hygiene and, consequently, perfect well-being aren't all that difficult and, above all, are possible with natural, non-aggressive means: with zeolite. Zeolite is a mineral of volcanic origin and not only contains tooth-strengthening silicon , but its finely ground grains are structured like mini-sponges, capable of absorbing and transporting toxic substances, viruses, and bacteria. This eliminates these causes of many problems and odors from your mouth. Ingenious, right?
Here are some valuable tips for perfect oral hygiene and, with it, greater self-confidence. First, we'll cover the three ways to use zeolite, and further down, you'll find the possible applications of each "recipe" for various oral health issues. All with the goal of creating a good feeling in your mouth.
How can zeolite be used in oral hygiene?
Mouth and throat rinse with zeolite
We detoxify a lot through the oral mucosa at night, which is why we have musty breath in the morning.
This recipe was a game-changer for me. If you can even call it a "recipe." Because it basically only requires two ingredients:
• 1 level teaspoon of zeolite powder dissolved in 125 ml of water.
Or ½ teaspoon to 2-3 tablespoons of water.
Rinse your mouth with it for a few minutes and gargle to get rid of any bacteria in your throat . Then spit it out and take another sip. Do this for a few minutes. If you don't like the "sandy" feeling in your mouth, simply rinse with water again. But don't swallow. You don't want to keep the toxins and bacteria in your body. You'll find out which problems this mouthwash is suitable for below.
Brushing your teeth with zeolite
Yes, you read that right. Instead of your toothpaste, you can also use zeolite powder. Perhaps you don't like some of the ingredients in some toothpastes, or perhaps they contain too many additives and flavors for your taste, then try pure zeolite powder.
To do this, dab a moistened toothbrush into the zeolite once to absorb the powder. Then brush your teeth as usual. Of course, it won't foam, but you'll get used to it.
The fine grains polish your teeth wonderfully, while the microscopic “zeolite sponges” absorb the dirt and bacteria and carry them away when you spit them out and rinse them out.

Yes, you won't get a minty feeling, but you'll still get an incredibly clean and fresh mouthfeel , and your teeth will feel wonderfully smooth. And the silicon content helps here, too. If you don't want to miss out on the foam and minty freshness of toothpaste, you can of course also add a pinch of zeolite to your toothpaste.
Do you also use small brushes to clean between your teeth?
I first dip the small brush into the zeolite powder and then clean the gaps. This ensures that powder also gets into these areas. These are always neglected. At least not by me. Finally, after cleaning the brush with water, I dip it again in the powder. This allows it to dry and prepare for the next day. The last bacteria are thus adsorbed and washed off the next day.
You can also run dental floss through the zeolite powder. The fine powder will stick to it and get into places you can't reach with a toothbrush.
TIP: Clean your toothbrush with zeolite powder. This can also be done with toothbrushes. Generously replace the powder with zeolite powder and let it clean overnight. The same applies to your tongue scraper, of course.
Do you use a plastic toothbrush cup?
We all know the advantages of a colorful plastic cup. Its disadvantage is that it has a smoky surface, which is very easily susceptible to bacteria, limescale, and other germs.
TIP: Use a glass toothbrush cup and put it in the dishwasher at least once a week. In between, sprinkle a little zeolite powder on the bottom of the cup.
Do you have a tongue scraper?
The tongue also needs to be cleansed. Ayurveda knows this well. Here, I apply zeolite to my tongue. I let it work as long as I can. That is, until my mouth produces so much saliva that I'm afraid it will all run away. That's when the tongue scraper comes into play. I have two. One with a brush on one side. I use it to gently massage the zeolite powder into my tongue. Then I turn it over and gently scrape everything away. Rinse and enjoy your pink tongue. Goodbye tongue coating. Hello, well-being.
Applying pure zeolite powder
To do this, slightly moisten your index finger, take a small amount of the fine zeolite powder, and gently dab it onto the affected areas. This method is just as simple as the other two, but the zeolite is more concentrated this way, making it particularly suitable for specific problems. Below, you'll learn which problems this method is best for.
Can zeolite help with bad breath?
Bad breath can have many causes, such as alcohol or cigarette consumption, eating garlic and other strong-smelling foods and coffee, but diseases and fungi can also lead to bad breath.
We also detoxify a lot through the oral mucosa at night, which is why we have musty breath in the morning.
Zeolite helps with bad breath in many ways:
Zeolite binds gases, so the excess sulfur-like gas compounds from protein decomposition are also reabsorbed.
Zeolite has a positive effect on the pH value and the acid-base balance, which supports the oral flora and prevents putrefactive bacteria from settling so easily in the mouth.
It's best to rinse your mouth thoroughly with the zeolite mouthwash for a few minutes immediately after waking up. Be careful not to swallow; spit it out instead, as the zeolite water will have absorbed all the toxins and bacteria.
Afterwards, you can brush your teeth with zeolite to remove even the last odor-causing bacteria. If you don't want to miss out on minty breath, you can also first apply toothpaste to your toothbrush and then sprinkle a little zeolite on top, or simply dip your brush in the powder.
Smoking and zeolite
Smoking cigarettes inevitably leads to bad breath . That's simply a fact. So, if you want to permanently get rid of this smell, the best thing to do is quit smoking. But that's not what we're talking about here. This article is about the short-term elimination of the unpleasant side effect of smoking: smoker's breath.
Just as with bad breath in general, you can “attack” two things here:
It is best to rinse your mouth thoroughly with zeolite water immediately after smoking.
Afterwards, you can of course brush your teeth with zeolite to remove even the last odor-causing pollutants.

Plaque / dental plaque
Even with thorough brushing, plaque is difficult to reach and remove. However, it's responsible for cavities. It's made up of 90% bacteria and feeds on sugar, producing acids that attack teeth. Therefore, it's essential to thoroughly remove plaque. Plaque appears as a yellowish to grayish deposit between teeth and at the junction between teeth and gums.
The best way to thoroughly clean your teeth and also remove tartar is:
Brush your teeth with zeolite because the fine powder penetrates well into the interdental spaces and binds bacteria there. To do this, add a pinch of fine zeolite powder to your toothpaste and brush your teeth thoroughly. Don't worry, the ultrafine powder won't damage your tooth enamel. On the contrary, it actually protects it and remineralizes your teeth.
Caution: This is no substitute for a dentist. AND only use zeolite powder under 10 microns. Otherwise, the powder is too coarse and damaging.
Oral thrush / oral candidiasis (fungal infection in the mouth with yeast fungi)
While thrush primarily affects babies and toddlers, adults can also be affected and develop yeast infections in the mouth, known as oral candidiasis. This is nothing to be ashamed of and isn't necessarily related to poor oral hygiene, but rather to a weakened immune system. Denture wearers are also often familiar with this problem. You don't have to resign yourself to it.
The best thing to do is the following:
Either as a mouthwash – dissolve a level teaspoon of zeolite powder in 1/8 liter of water and rinse your mouth thoroughly. You can also use it as a throat rinse by gargling thoroughly.
…or as zeolite toothpaste (see plaque)
Cold sores and herpes
Cold sores and cold sores can appear anywhere in the mouth, on the mucous membranes, and even on the lips. You're probably familiar with those unsightly and painful blisters on the lips, if not on yourself, then certainly on others. Unfortunately, once infected with the herpes virus for the first time, the blisters can recur, as the pathogen remains in the body and, unfortunately, they tend to appear during periods of stress or when the immune system is weakened.
If you want to do more than apply ointments or gels that inhibit virus growth, you can also use zeolite. The ultrafine zeolite powder has already proven very effective.
It is important to start using it at the first signs:
If the blisters are in your mouth, rinse your mouth with zeolite water twice a day: once in the morning after brushing your teeth and once in the evening before bedtime. Let the solution sit in your mouth for a few minutes, swish it around, and then spit it out.
If the blisters are on your lip, you can pick up the fine zeolite powder with a moistened (clean!) finger or a cotton swab and gently dab it onto the blister. You can also do this inside your mouth.
Canker sores
Canker sores are very painful, white, crater-like, often circular inflammations on the gums or oral mucosa near the lips. These aren't always related to a lack of or inadequate oral hygiene, but are usually a sign of a weakened immune system.
Since touching this area is particularly painful, we recommend the following procedure:
Rinse your mouth with the zeolite mouthwash twice a day: once in the morning after brushing your teeth and once in the evening before bed. Be especially careful here, but you'll quickly notice how good the rinse is for you.
If the acute pain gradually subsides, you can also gently dab the powder directly onto the ulcer. But only if the contact isn't too painful. Zeolite has an anti-inflammatory effect, and the ulcer may disappear quickly.
Piercings and tongue tattoos
Piercings and tattoos on the tongue or lips require special care afterward to ensure that wound healing is not impaired or, in fact, even promoted. Good oral hygiene is essential. Zeolite can be a wonderful aid in eliminating bacteria that can interfere with wound healing or even cause inflammation. At the same time, zeolite nourishes these sensitive areas and can thus support their care.
Therefore, this application of zeolite is recommended:
Rinse your mouth with zeolite mouthwash 1-2 times a day, as needed. Apply a generous amount to the piercing or tongue tattoo area. Also, try placing a piece of cotton cloth over the area to see how it feels. This is to prevent all of the zeolite powder from running away with your saliva and taking effect.
"I completed orthodontic treatment a few years ago and have been wearing my retainer aligners occasionally at night ever since to prevent my teeth from shifting again. Cleaning the aligners has always been a huge issue for me. Especially when you wear them for a very long time, there's a greater risk of bacteria and bad odors building up. Since using zeolite for cleaning, I've had a much better feeling in my mouth, even with the aligners. I wouldn't want to be without them!" *****
