AM+PLUS for horses — Active microorganisms for skin, coat, and stable environment

Updated on 16.7.2026

Tiny helpers you can't see, but whose effects you feel.

Microorganisms – the invisible helpers in horse care

When we think of horse care, we often think of brushes, hoof picks, and mane spray. What we consider less often are the invisible helpers that work daily on and in our horses: microorganisms.
Tiny living creatures – bacteria, yeasts, sometimes even fungi – that live in symbiosis with their host. You don't see them. You rarely feel them directly. And yet, they perform tasks that are crucial for the health of our horses.

They colonize the skin, the coat, the mucous membranes, the gut. And there, they form a balance – a microbiome (the totality of all microorganisms inhabiting a living space) – which protects, stabilizes, and regulates.
If this balance is disturbed – by stress, by too frequent washing, by damp stable air, by changing environments – sometimes the wrong microorganisms gain the upper hand. Every horse owner knows the result: Odor. Irritated skin. Dandruff. Dull coat.

This is exactly where AM+PLUS comes in.

What AM+PLUS is – and what distinguishes it from traditional products

AM+PLUS are active microorganisms – good bacteria and yeasts that colonize and stabilize a healthy skin environment. The core are lactic acid bacteria – the same ones that naturally occur on healthy skin.

The crucial difference to traditional disinfectant sprays: AM+PLUS works ecologically, not chemically. Instead of killing harmful germs, the microorganisms contained promote a healthy balance and simply displace undesirable germs through their presence.
Not killing. Displacing. That's the difference.

Additionally, AM+PLUS contains spagyric and homeopathic plant and mineral components – based on an Austrian placenta with over 350 mineral and 170 plant extracts. This creates a synergy: environmental care through microbes plus subtle and mineral support.

How we use AM+PLUS for our horses

Andreas has developed his own system over the years – and it has proven effective.

After each wash, the entire interior of the trailer is sprayed with AM+PLUS. Especially in an enclosed space, where horses often sweat, are stressed, or stand for long periods, moisture accumulates – and precisely there, an unfavorable germ environment can form. Spraying after each cleaning ensures that a healthy microbiome can re-establish itself instead of a putrefactive one.

In summer, Andreas mixes his own coat spray – AM+PLUS combined with a few drops of lavender oil. This has two effects simultaneously: The microorganisms stabilize the skin microbiome, while the lavender scent additionally keeps flies and insects away. A simple but effective combination for the hot months.

The blankets are also regularly sprayed – especially after washing. Just like with dog blankets: A freshly washed blanket is sterile at first, but not automatically in balance. With AM+PLUS, it is "re-inoculated" with probiotics instead of just being clean.

Practical Tip

Areas subject to frequent change, such as the trailer, frequently used blankets, or the girth, deserve special attention – they are often damp, close to the body, and thus ideal places for a microbiome imbalance.

When AM+PLUS is particularly useful

After washing or bathing: Frequent washing can impair the skin's natural protective film. AM+PLUS applied to the still slightly damp coat supports the rebuilding of the microbiome.
During coat change: When the skin is particularly stressed and old hairs are shedding, the skin environment benefits from additional microbial support.
For irritated or sensitive skin: In combination with Zeolite skin powder for dry, soothed areas.
In summer against insects: The combination with lavender oil, as Andreas uses it.
For the stable environment: Trailers, blankets, saddle pads, stall areas – wherever moisture and warmth meet.

Application & Dosage

Always mix fresh: Dilute a splash of AM+PLUS with a little water – only as much as you will use immediately. Microorganisms lose their potency with prolonged air exposure.
Mist finely, do not soak: Spray generously but finely on coat, blankets, or the interior of the trailer. For direct application to the horse: avoid the back, flanks, abdomen in very sensitive areas such as eyes and mouth.
The ideal time: After washing, when the coat is still slightly damp – this is the perfect moment for a microbiome reset.
For routine: 2 to 4 times a week for normal use. More frequently under special stress – coat change, after illness, with irritated skin.
Blankets and textiles: Spray thoroughly after washing, allow to dry briefly.

The perfect combination – AM+PLUS directly on the bedding

There is another, particularly effective application: misting AM+PLUS directly onto the HORSEKRAFT Zeolite bedding.

What happens here is ingeniously simple: The fine-pored structure of the zeolite provides an ideal breeding ground for the microorganisms from AM+PLUS to settle and multiply.
Instead of an unfavorable, putrefaction-promoting germ environment forming in the stall, a stable, supportive microbiome is created – directly in the stall floor, where your horse stands, lies, and breathes.

The bedding itself already binds ammonia and moisture.
When misted with AM+PLUS, it additionally becomes an active habitat for good microorganisms – which then naturally prevail against undesirable germs.

🌿 Practical Tip

Mix AM+PLUS fresh and mist it directly over the freshly bedded stall. The zeolite bedding offers optimal conditions for microorganisms to settle – creating a healthy microbiome throughout the entire stall floor, not just on the skin surface.

What we don't promise

AM+PLUS is not a cure and not a substitute for veterinary treatment. We make no medical promises. What we can say: Many horse owners report positive experiences – and we ourselves use it daily. Nothing more.

FAQ – Frequent Questions

❓ Can I add AM+PLUS to my horse's feed?
No – we use AM+PLUS for external application on coat, skin, and in the stable environment. Not for internal feeding.

❓ How often should I apply AM+PLUS?
As a routine, we recommend 2 to 4 times a week. More frequently under special stress such as coat change or after washing.

❓ Can I combine AM+PLUS with lavender oil?
Yes, we do that ourselves – especially in summer, the combination of AM+PLUS and a few drops of lavender oil is practical, as it simultaneously supports the skin microbiome and keeps insects away.

❓ Why do I always have to mix AM+PLUS fresh?
The contained microorganisms are living organisms that lose their potency with prolonged air exposure. Therefore, always mix only as much as you will use immediately.

❓ Can I also use AM+PLUS in the trailer or on blankets?
Yes – this is one of our most important applications. Especially after cleaning or washing, spraying ensures that a healthy instead of an unfavorable germ environment forms.

❓ Should I use AM+PLUS and the zeolite bedding together?
Yes, that is even the ideal combination. The bedding ensures a dry, low-ammonia floor – the basis for healthy hooves. AM+PLUS additionally stabilizes the microbiome on coat and skin. Both complement each other at different levels.

❓ Should I use AM+PLUS and the zeolite bedding together?
Yes, that is even one of the most effective applications. AM+PLUS can be directly misted onto the freshly bedded stall – the fine-pored structure of the zeolite bedding provides an ideal breeding ground for the microorganisms to settle and multiply. This creates a stable, supportive microbiome directly in the stall floor instead of a putrefaction-promoting germ environment.

❓ Why is zeolite bedding particularly suitable as a carrier for microorganisms?
Zeolite has an extremely porous, fine-grained structure with a huge active internal surface. This offers microorganisms much more hold and living space than smooth or coarse materials – the bedding thus becomes an active habitat for a healthy microbiome instead of just a moisture binder.

❓ Can I also spray AM+PLUS into already used, older bedding?
Yes, that works just as well – especially if the stall has been used for a longer time and moisture has accumulated. AM+PLUS helps to restore the microbial balance and prevents the further spread of putrefaction-promoting germs.
