The correct name for zeolite powder is 1g568, and it is approved as a binder and anti-caking agent to reduce feed contamination with harmful substances. For all animal species.
Well, it is rare, but it sometimes happens that a horse does not want to eat, or finds it difficult to eat, this type of feed additive, which smells like stone. Actually, it does not smell like anything. It tastes like stone.
Sometimes the horse just needs to get used to it.
HORSEKRAFT Zeolite is approved as a feed additive to optimize feed.
The feed authority stipulates that zeolite must be mixed into the feed. This allows it to exert its full effect as a feed additive - to optimize the feed.
And that is exactly what we recommend. Mix it homogeneously into the feed.
We know of customers who use zeolite powder for their horses in the following ways:
- Mix it into daily feed like oats and moisten it.
- Start with small amounts so the horse can get used to the smell and taste.
- Sprinkle it into a mash/muesli.
- Prepare a warm muesli/mash and stir the powder into the warm mixture.
- Turn off the water trough, and after some time (1-2 hours, until the horse gets thirsty), provide the zeolite powder in a bucket of water (half-full and stir well repeatedly so the powder disperses) to drink.
- Sprinkle onto hemp or hay pellets and mix/press the powder into them.
- Sprinkle onto hay and moisten.
- Switch to HORSEKRAFT Zeolite Pellets PURE.
- Grate an apple and mix the powder underneath. That has worked almost every time.
